Noa Michaels is a harpist based in Fort Lauderdale, and Tallahassee, Florida. She has played with the Tallahassee Symphony and Florida State University’s orchestras and affiliated bands, and was principal harpist of the Broward Symphony Orchestra and Florida Youth Orchestra. Noa has also played with other musical ensembles including the Tallahassee Ballet, Alhambra Orchestra, South Florida Symphony Orchestra, Lynn Philharmonia, Ocala Symphony Orchestra, Choirs at Palm Beach Atlantic, and more. She has performed in large venues including the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Broward Center for Performing Arts, Kravis Center for Performing Arts, and the New World Center.

Noa’s achievements include absolute first place in the Young Artist and Concerto category at the UK International Music Competition along with the Poetic Interpretation Special Prize. In the London Young Musician Concerto Competition, she won the gold prize and the Characteristic Performance Special Prize, and won first prize in the North International Music Competition. She was a high score winner in the Basel International Online Harp Competition, achieved third place in the Alhambra Orchestra Concerto Competition, and won first place in the American Protegé Concerto Competition, which invited her to perform a solo in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall.

She has been featured as a soloist with the Camerata of Naples, Broward Symphony Orchestra, Alhambra Orchestra, Florida Youth Orchestra, and Camerata Di Magdalena. One notable solo performance was a collaboration with Latin-Grammy winning flutist Nestor Torres.

Noa participated in the Miami Music Festival multiple times as an orchestral fellow under the tutelage of Deborah Fleisher, and the New World Symphony Side-by-Side with Phoebe Powell. She also studied with harpist Sivan Magen at the Musica Mundi Course in Waterloo, Belgium, with Dr. June Han at the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine, and at the Round Top Festival Institute in Texas with Paula Page and Jaymee Haefner. Noa has been invited by other orchestral programs like the Eastern Music Festival, Brevard Music Center, and the New England Conservatory Summer Orchestral Institute.

Noa studied with Dickie, Deborah, and Kayo Ishimaru-Fleisher, principal harpists of the Naples Philharmonic and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. She has had masterclasses from Parker Ramsay, Ann Yeung, Abigail Kent, Antoine Malette-Chénier, Giuseppina Ciarla, and Juan Riveros, and is currently studying with professor Dr. Noël Wan at Florida State University, where she is pursing a dual degree in music and Management Information Systems. She also directs a registered student organization, Soundpainting Ensemble at FSU. In her free time, she works as a professional stagehand and video editor at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.
